GETN logo — a hand reaching toward a star inside a white circle, beside the GETN wordmark on green

GETN, the Global Edtech Testbed Network, was formed by four organizations that all had to agree on one identity. The brief they landed on was a reaction to their own field. Edtech branding tends to read dry, academic, and corporate, and they wanted something about the people making edtech instead.

So the symbol is a hand reaching toward a star. The hand is one continuous shape that changes as it turns. Rotate it and it reads g, then e, then t, then n. Four letters in one form, which is roughly what the network is.

The palette works the same way, just with math. Instead of picking colors, I took the hex values from each founding organization's brand and found the midpoints between them. One member's green averaged against another's, and so on down the palette. Every color is a blend of the partners it stands for, so nobody's brand got imposed on the rest.

The brand book covers the variants they need day to day: symbol alone, symbol with wordmark, the full Global Edtech Testbed Network lockup for formal use, and a dated version for annual cohorts, all in Poppins.
